Alice von Klemperer

Clinical Psychologist

Alice is a fully insured, HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist. Her training, completed at the University of Witwatersrand, in South Africa in 2009, was predominantly psychodynamic (embedded in Attachment and Object Relations Theory) in nature, but also offered her the opportunity to work within varied settings and with people from many different cultural, ethnic and religious backgrounds and vastly different economic needs.

Since moving to the UK in 2010, she has supplemented this with further Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Imago Relationship Therapy and Mindfulness Skills training. She has put this training into practice in a variety of settings (inpatient, acute and outpatient) in both the private and public sector, working with clients from across the lifespan. More recently this has focussed on adult mental health (specialising in working with people with emotional regulation difficulties and personality disorder), and continues to do so in a leadership role within the NHS.

In private practice, Alice tends to work within an eclectic model: combining aspects of the above theories to allow the therapy to be as practical, time and solution focused as suits your current needs and readiness for change.
