Dr Asma Torkamani

Clinical Psychologist

Dr Asma Torkamani is a Senior Clinical Psychologist, with many years of experience of working with individuals across the life span presenting with a wide range of mental health difficulties. 

She is a published author and has worked at the world-renowned Institute of Neurology investigating the quality of life of individuals with various neurological conditions and that of their families.  She currently works in a specialist neuropsychology service within the NHS. She has specialist interest and experience working with adults with a history of complex trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder, adjustment difficulties, depression, anxiety and difficulties resulting from intergenerational trauma. 

Dr Torkamani has experience of working with individuals to help them overcome issues with work related stress, phobias, general anxiety, social anxiety, health anxiety, work related anxiety, relationship problems, bereavement, and adjustment difficulties. She is also experienced in working with individuals with cognitive problems and memory concerns.

Dr Torkamani believes that how we feel at any given moment tells a story about the experiences that we’ve had and how they have shaped us. Developing a strong formulation is at the very core of her therapeutic approach. She works together with her clients to help them gain new insights about their unique circumstances and needs, and to develop strategies to overcome their struggles.
