Dr Elisa Aguirre is a registered HCPC and BABCP registered Health Psychologist. She has extensive experience in the assessment and treatment of common mental health difficulties among adults of all ages, and has worked in the NHS across a variety of primary and secondary mental health settings. Having obtained a BSc Psychology degree at Deusto University (Spain), she went on to complete her Doctorate in Psychology at University College London.
Dr Elisa Aguirre has experience in working with people with a range of common mental health difficulties including anxiety disorders (social anxiety, worry and generalised anxiety disorder, phobias, panic), depression, low self-esteem, perfectionism, stress, bereavement, trauma, and burnout. Dr Elisa Aguirre has a particular interest in CBT and completed a further qualification (Post-Graduate Diploma) at the University of Hertfordshire . This approach can be especially helpful for individuals struggling with low common mental health difficulties as well as self- criticism and low self-esteem.
Dr Elisa Aguirre feels it is a privilege to be able to practice her profession and work alongside diverse clients to help them make sense of their experiences and make meaningful changes in their lives. She offers a warm, non- judgemental, and respectful approach and strives to create a safe and containing space to explore distress and ways of alleviating it.
