Dr Emily Shaw

Clinical Psychologist

Dr Emily Shaw is a Clinical Psychologist, with extensive experience working with adults and children with mental health difficulties. Having obtained her BSc in Psychology from Cardiff University, she went on to complete a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from University College London. She currently works in a specialist London NHS service, with people experiencing complex depression, anxiety, and trauma.

Dr Shaw has worked with clients with a wide range of difficulties, including stress, work-related stress, depression, anxiety, panic, obsessive compulsive disorder, health anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, sleep difficulties, substance misuse, pain management, illness adjustment, bereavement, trauma, psychosis, personality disorders and bipolar disorder.

Dr Shaw is passionate about continually developing her repertoire of skills and has experience of a range of psychological approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Compassion Focused Cognitive Therapy, and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy. She has completed advanced Acceptance and Commitment Therapy training and is a published author in the field of mindfulness.

Dr Shaw is an empathic and collaborative psychological therapist who values creating a space for clients to feel comfortable and respected. She approaches her clients in a sensitive, warm and non-judgmental manner and is flexible to their individual needs. She is dedicated in using a focused and timely approach to help clients achieve their goals and improve their well-being.
