Dr Gursharan Virdee
Dr Gursharan Virdee is a Clinical Psychologist with expertise in administering a range of psychometric assessments. Having obtained a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Surrey, Dr Virdee has worked as a Clinical Psychologist both in the NHS and the private sector, working with clients with acquired brain injury and long term neurological conditions.
Dr Virdee has extensive experience providing psychological treatment to clients with a wide range of difficulties, including depression, anxiety, stress, work related stress, low self esteem, sleep difficulties, chronic pain, and relationship difficulties.
Dr Virdee is very interested in the coping resources that people use at times of emotional distress. She finds that drawing upon a range of psychological models including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy, provides an effective way of helping people to build emotional awareness and resilience, from which they can then move towards a richer and more meaningful way of life.
Dr Virdee integrates and implements her specialist knowledge from the field of neurology within her therapy work with clients to further help them to understand any unconscious patterns of behaviour that may be perpetuating their emotional difficulties, and to enhance their coping mechanisms when facing difficult emotions. She is a passionate clinician who works in an open, honest and respectful way, and enjoys working with her clients creatively and collaboratively. She draws on evidence-based treatments, always keeping a grounded and practical approach to her work.Back to team
