Dr Meherangiz Press

Counselling Psychologist

Dr. Meherangiz Press has worked internationally in the field of mental health for the last 12 years. She has a doctorate in counselling psychology and a masters in clinical psychology. She has worked in a therapeutic capacity with corporations such as Johnson & Johnson, JPMC and Accenture. She currently works in London with the NHS since the last 5 years, and runs a small private practice.

Dr. Press is trained at doctoral level in existential therapies, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Compassion focused Therapy, and psychodynamic approaches. She works pluralistically, which means that she tailors her psychotherapeutic approach in accordance with the unique needs of the client. Her experience spans working with people suffering from different degrees of distress, including anxiety, depression, bereavement and work stress. The labels are incidental – she believes in working with the PERSON, who is currently struggling in his/her unique social and psychological context. She is passionate about normalising mental health and has also given a TedX talk on the subject.

She says: “I believe that we all suffer – this is a given in the world we live in today. However, I also believe that we have great potential for joy, peace, self-reflection and emotional intelligence. In therapy, it is this capacity that we would together strive to galvanise, so that you can live your life in line with your most cherished values.”
