Dr Panos Platanitis is a Counselling Psychologist with extensive experience working in a variety of NHS settings including primary and secondary care services, as well as in drug rehabilitation units, and in private practice. Having obtained a BSc in Sociology from the Panteion University of Athens, Greece, he went on to complete an MSc in Psychology at the University of Sheffield Hallam, as well as an MSc in Counselling Psychology at the University of Sheffield. Following this, he was awarded his Doctorate in Counselling Psychology from the University of Manchester, and he currents works as a counselling Psychologist in a London NHS Trust.
Dr Platanitis has worked with young people and adults with a wide range of presentations including depression, low self esteem, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, generalised anxiety disorder, health anxiety, bereavement, post traumatic stress disorder, phobias and relationship difficulties.
He offers an integrative approach to therapy, adapting the way he works to his client’s needs, and he has expertise in delivering Person Centred Therapy, Cognitive Analytic Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
Dr Platanitis has a special interest in treating relationship difficulties, trauma, depression, and anxiety related issues.
