Dr Zoe Cross is a Clinical Psychologist who is an approachable, empathetic and engaging clinician who places the needs of her clients at the forefront of their sessions, to work collaboratively, towards improving psychological distress. Zoe obtained her BSc in Psychology from Manchester Metropolitan University, she further studied for an MSc at The University of Manchester and completed her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at The University of Liverpool.
She has gathered a wealth of experience working in both the NHS and the private sector, across both child and adult, in-patient and out-patient services, carrying out psychological assessments, sharing formulations and delivering evidence-based interventions for a wide range of mental health difficulties.
In particular, Zoe has extensive experience of working with worry and rumination, anxiety disorders (including generalised anxiety disorder, health anxiety and social anxiety), mood disorders (including depression), phobias, OCD, worry, low self-esteem and confidence and stress related difficulties. In addition, Zoe has a range of experiences working with families affected by physical health difficulties, both acute and long-term chronic conditions and the psychological distress these difficulties can cause. Zoe uses interventions primarily informed by Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Mindfulness based Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (MCBT)
More recently Zoe has become interested in the evidence for incorporating green spaces, nature, outside activities and therapeutic forest schools into psychological treatments for children, families and adults experiencing mental health difficulties.
