Maria Amorim

Clinical Psychologist

Maria is a Chartered Clinical and Counselling Psychologist, with extensive experience working with adults from diverse settings such as secure services, private practice, community services, and higher education institutions.

Maria has worked with clients experiencing a wide range of needs related to emotional regulation and behaviour change, anxiety, depression, trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder, psychosis, personality disorders, eating disorders, or bipolar disorder. As counselling psychologist, Maria has also worked with clients in a diverse range of issues related to areas such as career counselling, self-care, effectively managing relationships, adjustment to life changes, stress management, and post-traumatic growth.

Maria is trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and Narrative Therapy.  

Maria enjoys working collaboratively with clients, tailoring intervention to each client’s unique presentation, assisting them in overcoming challenges and improving their quality of life in a meaningful and mindful way.
